PLEASE read this!! Utah passed this legislation with an overwhelming majority, and the implications are dire for women and girls across the state. The only way to put a stop to it is to draw attention to their insanity. Even if you’re anti-choice, consider the extremity of this law and the precedent it sets for all American women.

WHAT THE FUCK
Most disturbing pars of this:
“A pregnant woman in an abusive relationship could be held criminally liable if she doesnt leave.” Are you kidding me?! It’s now a woman’s fault if her SO beats her until she miscarries because she didnt leave? But what about the abuser? Let’s get technical here: The woman didnt cause the miscarriage, the beating did. The SO did the beating, so s/he is responsible for the miscarriage. Duh.
I cant deal with this level of stupidity. I just cant.
This isn’t insanity. This is sexism. It’s hella ableist to call extreme bigotry crazy or insane.
Also reblogged because holy fuck Utah is disgusting.

I really think the UK’s fight against sexism would have progressed a lot more by now, if we weren’t being dragged back by America all the live-long day.
Just letting you know so you don’t get confused.
BECAUSE I AM NICE :3
From a total of 29 attending cabinet, there will be just four women. (One of them, Sayeeda Warsi, is unpaid, unelected and a “minister without portfolio”. She is also the only non-white member of the cabinet.) It’s quite a contrast with Nick Clegg’s comments on Tuesday: “I hope this is the start of a new kind of politics I have always believed in. Diverse, plural, where different points of view find a way to work together.”
This cabinet, diverse? With less than 14% women? Spain manages 53%, Germany 37%. Plural? With not a single minority ethnic MP? A new kind of politics? When two thirds of the top table went to private school – three each to Eton and Westminster – compared with 7% of the population?
